It was time to head home from Tokyo,Japan. But I had plenty of time before my flight to Los Angeles at 4:00pm. I decided to visit the Admirals Club and refresh myself. One of my favorite things to do before boarding a long flight is taking a hot shower because that relaxes me and gets me ready to catch a few good hours of sleep while crossing the Pacific. As I mentioned on my recent post of the Admirals Club at Narita Airport, the staff were super attentive and friendly making sure you have everything you need and making your visit to the lounge enjoyable. Something I liked a lot about this lounge is that they keep you informed of your flight and estimated time of departure. One thing I noticed about traveling to Asia multiple times this year is that a majority of the inbound flights are slightly delayed, causing the outbound to be delayed as well. I tend to take delays with a grain of salt, being an elite status flyer with American Airlines I have spent more of my time at airports than I have spent time at home and what makes a big difference while waiting, being able to use the magnificent lounges I have access to, but we will get into that on another post.
I requested my shower room upon arrival to the lounge, I noticed I was the second passenger at this lounge and it was basically empty – so I didn’t need to wait to use the shower. The kind staff member asked me for my boarding pass and passport to make sure she could stay up to date with my flight and let me know if anything changes, I thought that was very nice of her since I tend to check my American Airlines iPhone app more than usual to check any time changes, delays or to see if any gate changes have happened during my wait.
She assigned me shower room #4.
The agent/staff member will open the door for you and hand you the key for the shower and it’s just like a hotel key. The shower section of the lounge is very relaxing, Japanese music was playing and as shown on the photo theres a typical Japanese waterfall.
My first impression when entering the room – I really liked how clean they maintain the shower room and the designed of it. It is very simple and a well equipped shower. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap and shower cap are provided as well as a variety of towels and hair dryer. The pressure of the shower was just perfect and it got the job done. I was pleased with it and what it had to offer.
You will be able to hear announcements of flights while being in the shower and music will be playing while no announcements are being made. I am a fan of private airport lounges that have music in them, its relaxing and makes me feel like I am home.
A few facts to keep in mind when entering the shower room:
- It is a fairly small shower room but comfortable.
- The sync in the room do not offer extra amenities so the soap is within the sync itself.
- The Shower does provide you with in wall soap, conditioner and shampoo.
- You will have room to bring your carry on and backpack if you don’t feel safe leaving it outside.
- There is no time limit and you can take your time getting ready/showering.
- When done with the shower room, return the key to staff at the front desk of the lounge (main entrance)
If you are ever in Tokyo, Narita airport and have access to the Admirals club and would like to take a shower, I highly recommend it if you are wanting to refresh yourself before your flight. I have zero complaints or discomfort during my time at the lounge & I will use it again on my next trip to Japan. The Tokyo Admirals Club is located at Terminal 2 of Narita International Airport, near gate 71. Conveniently located just steps away from immigration and to American’s departure gates.
Have you visited this lounge before, if so what are your thoughts?
Best, John Carter.
