On July 16, 2014 I embarked on my journey to Hong Kong with American Airlines. I was a media guest to test their new service from Dallas International Airport to Hong Kong International Airport. Opinions and thoughts are my own.
After a wonderful 16 hour and 14 minute flight from Dallas To Hong Kong with American Airlines I was excited to get out of the plane and arrive to the JW Marriott Hong Kong which was the hotel where I was staying during my visit. I haven’t stayed at this property before and it’s always exciting to stay at a new hotel because it allows me to explore it and see what they offer to their guest. The JW Marriott Hong Kong has been having a very successful year with a Certificate of Excellence for the 2014 and it’s one of the most highlighted hotels to stay at while visiting Hong Kong ranked #20 out of 625 hotels. It is also centrally located by Pacific Place in Causeway Bay which is an incredible location.

Upon arrival to the hotel – There were plenty of staff members on duty and they were all very friendly, attentive and caring. They grabbed my suitcase and carry on right away and directed me to the lobby so I could check in. Upon entering the hotel I was impressed by how big the facility was and how great everything was set up, the presentation was spectacular – especially the window that overlooks Victoria Harbor. Within the ground floor you will find the following: Concierge desk, lobby, hotel restaurants and the ground floor towards the mall which can be accessed by the elevator or the escalators that are connected to the lobby floor.
The check in process was pleasant and fast. The staff at the JW Marriott Hong Kong are extremely friendly and attentive and made themselves available for anything I needed during my stay. They asked me a couple questions before I was heading to my room to make sure if I wanted the newspaper every morning or If I wanted my breakfast delivered at a certain time and guided me on some of their breakfast specialities. Once the check-in was over, they walked me with me to the elevator and I was on my way. The customer service from them was simply incredible and they sure make you feel like you’re home.

Once in the elevator I slide my key on the key slot to activate the elevator numbers – I am sure many of you have stayed at hotels where you have to slide your key in and then press the number on the floor you’re staying – The JW Marriott Hong Kong has the same approach. I was staying on floor 24 and I was looking forward to seeing the view it offers.
Here is an overview of the Elevator Floors & what each floor offers.
- The Lobby: Wine Bar, Riedel Room (Uses for conferences), Hotel Lounge.
- Floor #5: Marriott Cafe & Fint Grill & Bar
- Floor #7: Fish Bar & Swimming pool
- LG – Ground Floor: Gym & Shopping Plaza
Arriving in Floor #24 – The floor hall of the hotel was in great condition and they sure keep things fresh and organized. Everything was well maintained with a great aroma.

Welcome amenity in my Deluxe Room at the JW Marriott
I was very pleased with my deluxe room – Spacious, comfortable, equipped with a mini bar, snack bar, security box, fast internet and breath taking views. Upon arrival into my room, minutes later the bell man dropped off my suitcase and carry on. Shortly after they delivered the Tea of the Month known as “Shou Mei” and it was poured right away. An incredible warm welcome by the staff of the JW. The bathroom of the room was also very spacious featuring a bath tub and a separate shower. Bath robe and bathroom slippers are also provided.

Bottom line and final thoughts
My first impression with the JW Marriott was excellent – Everyone at the hotel was very kind and attentive. All of the staff members were constantly making sure that I had everything I needed. My deluxe room was perfect and I wish I could have spent more time in it but coming back to it after a long day of work / exploring was something I was looking forward to every evening. The bed was super comfortable and its equipped with a lot of pillows. The blinds did a great job on keeping my room nice and dark during sunrise which is always a good thing. The bathroom and everything it offers was great because everything I needed was there and incase I needed something else, I could always call the front desk and get it delivered to my room. The shower pressure was also very good.
The toiletries such as soap, shampoo and conditioner were incredible and smelled great – It is one of the primary things I look for when it comes to toiletries and the JW Marriott Hong Kong had some of the best of the best. Overall, my stay, arrival and first impression experience at the JW Marriott Hong Kong was fascinating and General Manager named Benjamin was class act and so were the rest of the employees on duty.
On my upcoming blog I will be covering the Fitness Center of the hotel and the pool area.
