On July 16, 2014 I embarked on my journey to Hong Kong with American Airlines. I was a media guest to test their new service from Dallas International Airport to Hong Kong International Airport. Opinions and thoughts are my own.
In addition The Hong Kong Tourism Board accommodated my attractions during my visit to experience some of the unique things that Hong Kong offers for the tourist.
One of my favorite things to do when traveling is getting to experience the culture of the particular destination I visit, theres nothing better and more satisfactory in my eyes than getting to do what the locals do on a daily bases. Hong Kong is a destination that has become one of my favorites because of the people, the lifestyle, the sights, the culture and the food and I could keep going but to be honest, those are the primary reasons why. I love trying new things and of course, getting to know more of the Asia culture. if you have been to Asia before, you are aware that the locals love their Tea and they drink that more than they actually drink water, for them tea is their primary drink of choice because of the endless benefits each tea has. After visiting Li-Nong Tea and getting to know more of the Chinese Tea Culture I now understand how important tea is for them. To get to the Li-Nong Tea you have to go through the NGong Ping 360 Cable Cars, which is known to be one of the most visited tourist attractions in Hong Kong. I share my experience here, so make sure you take a look at that blog for more information.
You will find the Li-Nong Tea House within the village after finishing the cable cars ride and it will be located on the right hand side of the village which is a long walk path. The Facility its stunning and the presentation was simply incredible. I was excited to try the Tea of the Month and understanding more of the Chinese Tea Culture.
Welcome To Li-Nong Tea House
Upon arrival to the venue I was greeted by the friendly staff. They were all very attentive and caring. Keep in mind that you can request a private tea experience ahead of time if you would like to, which I highly recommend. Once you let the staff know that you are there for a private tea party, the staff member doing the presentation will come and greet you and direct you to the room.

Inside The Li-Nong Tea House
Before I begin to discuss my experience at Li-Nong Tea, I wanted to share with you all the companies background which is important information to keep in mind if you are wanting to visit. On their company background you will find a range of information that talks about who they are as a company and their mission. Where they originally started which was Hong Kong. The variety of teas being offered at their tea house, their shops location, shipment information and OEM and customers wanting to open their own house.
Li-Nong Tea Company Background Information
Once the staff member doing the presentation for us arrived. She introduced herself and welcomed us, she directed me to the tea room where they do all the tea presentation and explanation. The room was equipped with multiple tables for the visitors wanting to experience the Chinese Tea culture. Each table had a menu where the visitors could see the options and of course, the pricing for each. The facility is kept in great condition, all very clean and well organized.
From the menu, you can simply select any of the teas you would like to try. Once you have made your decision, let the staff member know which one you have decided on.
Now lets begin the coolest part of all – The presentation. The presentation lasted about 25-30 minutes. It all starts by the staff member welcoming you and asking you a few simple questions. Once thats over with, she will begin the process and explain to you which tea we are going to try. I simply stated that I wanted to try the tea of the month so I was in for a surprise, mainly because I wanted to try what is popular and something unique that I haven’t had before. She began to get things ready and begin the presentation. Within the table you could see everything up close and every move being done by the staff member which was a very cool experience.
Li-Nong Tea Party – Set up before the presentation
She then proceeded to tell me I was going to try the Tea of the Month known as “Oleada Roja” and some of the Health Benefits from this Tea are:
- Skin Care.
- Calming The Nerves.
- Moistening Lungs for arresting cough.
Once she poured the hot water into the cup, she placed the cup on a cup holder so I could see the Tea Blooming process, which was an absolute awesome experience.
After a few minutes, the tea started to bloom. It was my first time seeing something like this and I was amazed by the process of it.
Shortly after, she proceeded to pour the the tea in my cup so I could try it.
After trying the tea she asked me a few questions on my thoughts and if I wanted more. I proceeded to ask her a few simple questions so I could get to know more of the Chinese tea culture. After all questions were answered, she mentioned she had a surprise for us and also known as the Grand Finale experience. The Grand Finale experience was very cool and something else I haven’t experienced before, so I will share it on the images below so you could see what I saw during the presentation.
