New Year, Time to fly. I am preparing for my first ultra long haul flight of the new year and very much looking forward to visiting a new destination on my bucket list which is Bangkok,Thailand. The route I selected goes as follow: LAX-DFW-HKG-BKK-HKG-DFW-LAX. The route will give me a total of 41,584 miles and thats including BONUS miles, which is simply incredible. For those who are new to the page or just visiting, last year during the month of July I was invited by American Airlines as a media guest to review their new service to Hong Kong out of Dallas, if you would like to check out my complete trip report – make sure you visit the following link (here).
I will be flying first class from Los Angeles to Dallas and since it’s a red eye flight departing at 12:05am there will be no meal service, but I am guessing one of those breakfast box will be given to each passenger as we approach Dallas Forth Worth. Though, since I am flying Business class from Dallas to Hong Kong, I was able to pre-select my meal for the 17 hour flight. I love pre-selecting my meals before my flights, it is hassle free, takes a minute to do it and once I board the aircraft the flight attendants will know what I want right away. I highly recommend doing that for those who haven’t tried this method before.

I am sure new things have been added on to the flight since I last took it so if there is something that has been added that I haven’t covered on the website I will be document it on here for you all to be aware of whats been added into the route, which is one of my favorite though it’s a very very long flight but between a bed, wifi, walk up bar, I will be rather comfortable.
Meal Section will be considered Lunch on this route
For the menu, American is offering three different type of courses – and prior to the lunch there is a starter, which I am not sure which one its going to be. I will be sure to document that and share it on the blog. Normally on my transpacific flights towards Asia they serve the seared ahi tuna which is one of my favorites and it’s quite tasty. Though for this flight next week I am not really sure which starter they are going to offer.

I went ahead and selected the beef platter for my lunch choice because the other two lunch options did not call my attention at all. I’ve had several beef lunch/dinners on American and they were delicious so you cannot go wrong with them. Hoping this beef dish it’s just as good as the others I’ve had on board with them.
If you are one who needs a special meal on board, American also offers dietary specific meals.
I am looking forward to being back on the road next week and sharing my journeys around The World. I hope this post has been helpful for those wondering what are the meal options from Dallas to Hong Kong while flying premium cabin.
