I landed into Dallas Forth Worth on AA138 (Hong Kong to Dallas). at 1:30 in the afternoon. We made it one hour ahead of schedule thanks to the awesome tail wind we had over the pacific. The ride was mostly bumpy over the pacific though, it put me to sleep until arrival. Just a quick brief overview on how the flight went. After landing in Dallas I made my way towards immigration and there was nobody around which it was perfect. I cleared customs in matters of minutes and I was well on my way to my hotel which was the Hyatt Regency DFW. I booked this hotel by redeeming 13,000 American Airlines miles, I am trying to unload some of my AA miles and this was the perfect moment to do so for my one day lay over in Dallas.
After clearing customs I made my way to the shuttle pick up zone on the departure side of DFW airport (easier and less crowded) and I was picked up by the Hyatt Regency courtesy bus within minutes, I recommend calling the hotel as soon as you clear customs or arrive into Dallas to let them know you are a guest of the hotel and have arrived. The shuttle will come get you and take you to the hotel. The shuttle driver was friendly and attentive and arrived within 5 minutes of my call. The ride back to the hotel didn’t take very long, he had to drop off one passenger and then, we made our way to the Hyatt – it didn’t take longer than 5 minutes to get dropped off.
After arriving into the hotel I made my way to check in and every employee at the hotel was super friendly, attentive and caring. The employee who checked me in was fast and attentive, shortly after one of the managers escorted me to my room and made himself available for anything that I needed during my visit. I booked a simple standard room with one king bed, the room was spacious, comfortable and well maintained also very clean. I didn’t find anything to be wrong with the hotel and I was looking forward to getting some rest. I also had some great views of the runway and could see the planes take off and land, which was super considering I am an AV GEEK ;).
Hyatt Regency DFW – Standard Room overview
The standard room is simple yet comfortable and I enjoyed everything it offered. The bed was comfortable and so were the pillows, cannot compete to the glorious bed I slept in at the W Bangkok but it was comfortable to get a good night of sleep. The TV was standard with all your channels you would expect to have. The room also offered a lounge chair to sit back and relax and the working desk was just fine to get work done. On each side of the bed you have your nightstand table, where you will find an iHome and in my point of view, they should really upgrade these iHomes to be compatible for iPhone6 ;), along side of the iHome you will find two plug connectors to charge up your devices.

Within the room you will find several things. Bottle of waters for purchase, $2.00 each and a few tourism info and magazines to look over during your visit.
Hyatt Regency DFW – Bathroom
The bathroom of the room was well kept and clean. Everything you need is there and the shower was also spacious with good shower pressure as well. Within the sink you will find a mix of toiletries such as shampoo, soap, lotion, tooth paste, etc. Along with coffee from Starbucks to prepare your coffee whenever you would like. Within the bathroom section you will also find a closet where you can hang your belongings.
