This evening I will be embarking on my journey to Seoul Incheon – I will be flying my airline of choice which is American Airlines. The most important aspect of all is that all of my upgrades cleared and I am set to go. I will be flying Los Angeles to Dallas departing at 1:00am and there will be no meal on this flight because at the time we are leaving – though I am flying First Class there will only be refreshments available and I am guessing some snacks? It is a short ride and I am sure 95% of the passengers will be sound asleep before we even take off.
Flight routing to Seoul Incheon
As soon as I see my upgrades cleared I usually log into my American Airlines account to pre-select my meals and I highly recommend all of you to do that before your flights if you are confirmed a few days before departure as the selection of your meals needs to be 24 hours before departure. The process is painless and it takes 5 minutes. Pre-ordering your meal is helpful because it will guarantee you that you will get your desire meal and not be stuck with a meal that you didn’t want in the first place – though if you would like to wait until flight time to make your selection and get some feedback from the cabin crew thats also helpful. This is a new route for me to Asia and I wanted to try something else that I haven’t tried. On Today’s installment I will share with you the meal options and how to go select your meal for those new to this mechanism.
Meal Selection process
As I mentioned above, the process of selecting your meal online is painless and super quick. First log in into your American Airlines and select the option where it says “My Trips” select the reservation in which you got upgraded and it will pull. Once thats taken care of, scroll down where it says “Flight Option” and press where it says Entree Reservations.
Once you’ve clicked that the following screen will open up and make sure to read the information below to avoid any confusions.
Once you have selected the flight you got upgraded on – The menu of dishes will come through and you will be able to make your choices.
As you can see, I have selected the Korean Bibimbap – Out of all the other choices I’ve had pretty much all of them but the Miso Glazed sea bass but I’ve heard great feedback on it though I am one to skip fish while flying. It is also a new flight for me and I wanted to try the Korean dish which I’ve heard great things about and it will be worth sharing my thoughts with you all after the flight. Keep in mind prior to arrival there is also a snack given and I will be able to find that out when I am board the aircraft.
If you are one of those who like beef just to be on the “Safe side” keep in mind American Airlines beef can be a hit or miss, because sometimes they tend to be cooked just right and sometimes they tend to be extremely overcooked. So it comes down to a guessing game and how the catering will be handled before departure. Down below you can see my beef which was DELICIOUS from New York to Los Angeles in First Class.
Once you’ve made your choice, click “SAVE” and make sure your meal reservation sticks after. Close the window and make sure this shows afterwards as that will verify your meal selection has been confirmed.
You can go back and make all the changes you would like but once it’s before 24 hours you won’t be able to make the changes as it’s past the time before flight time.
I am looking forward to trying something new with American and report back my thoughts with you all.
Have you flown this route before and if so, what did you select for the meal?
