During my trip to the Middle East I visited Abu Dhabi and Dubai. I spent much more of my time in Abu Dhabi but visiting Dubai was a high priority due that I was only a one hour drive away from Dubai from Abu Dhabi. Prior to my trip to the Middle East I was able to reach out to the Dubai Tourism Board and we came to an agreement of working together in highlighting three major attractions to do during a one day visit to Dubai. The staff at the Dubai Tourism Board went far and beyond to accommodate my tours and attractions and I was truly thankful for their attention to detail and the wonderful serviced provided by them, which encourages me to let you all know my readers, without hesitation contact the Dubai Tourism Board through their website incase you happen to have any questions regarding your next trip or if you are concerned about something, they will advise you best – visit the following link for more information: Dubai Tourism Board.
Where did I stay in Dubai? Being that it was a short trip of only 24 hours, I decided to book an economical hotel yet comfortable for me to get a good night of sleep. I ended up booking the Four Points Downtown Bur Dubai for a total of rate of $183 which isn’t bad though I could have booked it at $130 though I waited too long and the rate increased. The hotel isn’t centrally located but it not extremely far from everything and it is very close to one of the major attractions that the Dubai Tourism Board booked me to visit which was the Sheikh Mohammed Center of Cultural Understanding, the ride was 5 minutes away to there from my hotel – But I will get into that on a later blog post.
Four Points by Sheraton Downtown Bur Dubai

After a smooth car ride from Abu Dhabi into Dubai – I made it into town in hour sharp. Upon arrival to the hotel I was greeted by the friendly staff working at the property and I was well on my way to check in. For privacy reasons, I did not take any photos from the lobby due to the high volume of guest in the area. The lobby was well kept and in great conditions, everything seemed to be organized as well and security was on sight at all times making sure everything is ok and running flawless at the property. During the check in process I was assigned room 420 which has a city view but to my surprise it was nothing glamorous due to the construction going on that kept me awake for several hours, though for the time I spent in my hotel room I can’t be complain much.
The Deluxe room of the Four Points Sheraton was well kept and it was an spacious room. Everything was well organized, clean and everything you need in your hotel was provided. On this post, I will not be covering the restroom because it is your standard restroom though I will point out that the shower pressure was weak and thats one of the things the hotel should focus on improving. But nonetheless, everything within the restroom was in great condition with your typical toiletries, towels and toilets.
Four Points by Sheraton Downtown Bur Dubai – Deluxe Room
The bed of the room was super comfortable and so were the pillows. I was able to catch a solid night of sleep upon arrival before my hectic day of adventures in the City. The decoration of the room is simple and not so extravagant which I love because it makes the room less crowded and busy. As shown on the photos, night stand tables on both sides with the telephone to make calls along with an iHome you would typically find at every hotel, which yet isn’t upgraded to the iPhone6 configuration :).
Within the room you will find two desk which one of them is a working desk and the other is a dining desk. The dining desk was simple and within the table you will find key information about the hotel and room service along with a laundry bag and sheet info incase you decide to do your laundry at the hotel. The working desk of the room was big with never ending power outlets which came in handy to charge all of my devices at once.
The room also features a lounge chair where you can simply relax and enjoy the view of the city or do some work. The chair was comfortable and I caught myself several times snoozing in it. In front of it theres a circular table where the TV remote can be found,
I feel like the hotel did an excellent job on space management within the room as everything seemed to be well designed and properly placed within the room. Upon entering to the room you will find some flyers from the property along with some complimentary waters, next to it you will find a closet, let me share that this room had 2 massive closets and for a solo traveler like myself I didn’t even know how to maximize that, but if you are traveling with a partner who likes to pack a whole lot, this closets will certainly come in handy 😉
The mini bar of the room was simple yet as always from hotels mini bar, they are brutally expensive. Thanks to the complimentary water, I was perfectly hydrated during those hot days in Dubai. The mini bar can be found shortly after entering the room. Aside from the complimentary waters you will find a coffee machine where you can make your coffee anytime and it is also complimentary.
Mini Bar snacks and the cooler will be underneath – Keep in mind the prices for the snacks and drinks can be found on the sheet right next to the snacks incase you are wondering how much each item will cost you, and it won’t be cheap ;).
Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay at this property – Everyone was super kind, friendly and attentive. I had a few questions about the area and the concierge desk of the hotel spent their time explaining to me their shuttle service which is complimentary to the beach for the hotel guest. Here is a tip if you are a Starpoints collector and would like to continue racking up those points – The Sheraton hotels are under the program of “Going Green” which means you will decline service being done to your room in Exchange of Points or an amenity of the Hotel, in every Sheraton Stay I happen to select the points because with those points I can redeem them for Airline or even for hotel stays. Head over to the front desk and enroll on the system of “Going Green” and at check-out you will see those points being deposited into your SPG account. Though they don’t fully clean your room, they do the basics of replacing the towels, adding new toiletries and sometimes doing turn down service during the evening.
Another great touch from the property that can be found in your room (so check those flyers) – It is that they give you a complimentary coffee of your choice at the coffee shop located in the lobby of the hotel. Again, this is free and on the hotel so take advantage of the offer while it’s there. As a Cappuccino addict, I went ahead with it and it was done to perfection!!!
Four Points by Sheraton Downtown Bur Dubai – Bottom Line
I truly enjoyed my stay at this property for the short and quick visit to Dubai. The hotel has a top notch staff that truly cares about the customer comfort and overall experience, while it’s a low budget hotel it offers a great fitness center, pool area, restaurants and a coffee shop with a variety of snacks and pastries to select from. The room was comfortable and met my expectations and the comfort of it, got the job done. I highly recommend this hotel if you are wanting to be within close reach of downtown Dubai or if you are on a quick trip and wanting something comfortable and safe to stay at. Keep in mind, hotel rates varies so you will have better chances of getting the best rate when booking fat in advance.
Have you stayed at this property before, if so – How was your experience?
