The time to explore Dubai has come – As I mentioned on my previews posting, The Dubai Tourism Board did an excellent job on taking care of my attractions so I was able to maximize my one day trip to Dubai. I was very excited to get to know Dubai and visit some of the attractions that everyone gets to do while visiting. Though I would have liked my visit to be longer so I could have experience more, these three attractions recommended by the Tourism Board were the highlight of my visit. They made sure I got every bit of information in regards of culture, lifestyle, learning about the Arabic Culture, followed by some history and ending the day with an Adrenaline rush. Be sure to visit the Dubai Tourism Board website for more information.
We came to the conclusion of covering three major attractions during my trip in which I will outline below. On Today’s installment I will be sharing my experience of the second attraction I got to do that day which was visiting The Burj Khalifa.
- Sheikh Mohammed Centre of Cultural Understanding
- The Burj Khalifa – Tallest building in the World
- Platinum Heritage – Safari Tour
As you can see, I got to do a little of everything during my visit which was perfectly planned with the right amount of time spent at each location without being rushed – My tip of advice is for you not to rush through any of this attractions, they are some of the “must do and visit” attractions so taking your time to maximize your stay and visit it’s vital for you to really live the adventure and soak in the vibe of these fantastic and interesting places.
The Burj Khalifa is located at the Dubai Mall, which also is the biggest mall in the World. Though the location of the Burj Khalifa is near the Cafe Court in the mall, it is easy to find so you don’t have to worry about anything.
Arriving at the Burj Khalifa
Pictured below is one of the stands known as “At The Top | Sky” which is the ultimate experience for the guest and it is much more expensive than the general admission to visit the tower. This is an experience that will take you to the highest floor of the Burj Khalifa which is floor number 148. Visiting the 148 is all about luxury and comfort for the guest as it offers a more luxurious feel, where complimentary beverages and snacks are offered along with a comfortable lounge to sit, relax and enjoy the view of Dubai from above.
You will also find the main entrance towards the Burj Khalifa and where the guest will be entering the tower. The line to buy your tickets its to the right hand side of the entrance and if you have any questions the staff on duty will be answer all of your questions as they were very attentive and aware of the guest coming.
Within the main entrance you will find a screen where it shows you the availability of tickets, what is sold out and what is limited on availability. I would purchase your tickets far in advanced so you’re able to visit this incredible landmark.
Inside The Burj Khalifa
Shortly after receiving my ticket – I was granted access into the tower and right upon entering I was escorted to the lounge room located at the right hand side of the entrance. The lounge was cozy, comfortable and perfectly designed, as I was waiting I was offered dates and arabic coffee, my two favorite things ;). I waited at the lounge for the staff member who was going to show me around while also explaining the history of the tower and guide me towards the 148 floor.
Prior to beginning my tour, this beautiful sculpture can be seen – Giving you some insight about the tower.
The wait for the staff member was minimal and I was well on my way to start learning about the Burj Khalifa. You have to follow the guide at all times and not be on your own, specially if you will be going towards the 148 floor where only a selected few have access to, by a selected few – I mean those who purchased the ticket that takes them to the 148 floor. The guide takes its time to explain to you about the tower, how long it took to get built and throughout the walk you will find a step by step information wall that explains everything about the Burj Khalifa, it was fascinating to learn and see the process it took to build something that thousands of peoples around the World visit. After an enjoyable 10 minute walk on the ground floor of the tower, learning and eading about the history, we made our way towards the elevator that would be taking me to the 148 floor.
Burj Khalifa Elevator Ride

The elevator ride was spectacular with those neon lights flashing – The total time from the ground to the highest floor 148 was 60 seconds. The cool thing about it – You can barely feel the elevator moving being that it’s so smooth going up. As you can see from the video they play an upbeat tune throughout the process along with letting you know which floor you are in as it goes up. After those 60 seconds, we arrived into the lounge of the 148 floor, known as the At the Top | Sky.
Burj Khalifa Lounge and views
As I mentioned earlier, being at the 148 floor is unlike any other – As the luxury, comfort and amenities are much better and its something you don’t get when simply visiting the 124th floor of the tower. They offer you complimentary juices and different snacks such as macaroons are also being offered. Within the lounge you will find a souvenir shop selling some very unique items from the tower, to be expected they are pricey but worth the price when you look at the great selection of items that they have for purchase.
The View from Dubai from the lounge was breathtaking. I couldn’t get enough of how beautiful and amazing the view was from here. There is also a sky deck view on this section where you can walk around from one site to another to complete catch the views of every corner as it tends to be different from the left and right angle views. I took my time to discover the sky deck and take some photos of each angle to show you all the skyline of Dubai from the top. Keep in mind you can spend as much time as you would like on this particular floor, I don’t believe theres an actual time you have to be there and then leave, so you can take your time to enjoy a refreshment, walk around, visit the sky deck, take photos, etc.

Guinness World Records Holder
As you walk around the lounge you will find the following image below. Where it states that this is the highest observation deck. It is not everyday I am at the highest tower in the world along side it’s certificated of being awarded this prestigious recognition.
The Burj Khalifa & At The Top | Sky overall experience
By now, you are probably wanting to visit the Burj Khalifa even more after seeing this coverage right? 😉 Well, I have nothing but great things to say during my visit and experience at the Burj Khalifa. This is a one of a kind moment that I will always cherish during my travels. The staff on duty were fantastic and focused on maximizing the guest experience. The comfort of having very minimal people on the 148 floor made it even better as it feels less crowded and hectic. The views from above are simply amazing and brings jitters to your stomach that you are this high up off the ground.
Security is always making sure things are running smoothies for everyone. If you happen to skip the 148 floor and are visiting the 124th floor the views will be similar and there will be a huge souvenir shop as well for you to purchase anything you would like to. Within the 124th floor you will also find an area where binoculars can be used, which helps you explore the city of Dubai much more. As it points out to different buildings letting you know what you are saying and what that particular building is about, which is something that you don’t find at the top lounge floor.
With that said, this is a place I will certainly be coming back to at night if there is a possibility as I would like to cover the night life view from above.
