I can’t deny it – I have a slight obsession with massages and I don’t tend to get them often like I should. As much as I fly, work in front of the computer and add on 7 days of gym, I should be making getting a massage a bi-weekly thing into my life. I find myself limited to options and would rather get my massage at properties around the World, specially in Asia as they are known to give one of a kind massages that will leave you drowsy for hours. I traveled to Seoul during the month of April and stayed at the Sheraton Seoul D Cube which was my absolute favorite property because of the customer service and overall attention to detail from the staff. I was also able to meet with fellow executives from the property and they offered me a FREE massage of 90 minutes for me to review their installations and see what their Aequalis Spa is about. I was thrilled because at the time I was in need of a massage due how extensive my travels have been. I accepted the offer and on Today’s installment I will be sharing my experience along with an overview of their ground installations within the spa area.
You will find the Aequalis Spa on the 28 floor of the property. Keep in mind you will need your room key on you at all times to access certain floors of the property. Within that door you will also find the fitness center, pool and golf area. The hotel had an incredible installation and everything was super well organized and polished. The staff on duty on charge of cleaning really focused on keeping things organized and clean. Once off the elevator I took a sharp right where the Aequalis Spa will be located. As I was waiting for the staff member to arrive, I took some photos of the ground floor where they have a gorgeous view of the city along with a Fit Cafe where you can sit down to eat and relax as well. It was a spacious room and comfortable. Within that floor you will also find the local shop where you can purchase spa products such as lotions and any other items needed for treatment.

To the right hand side of the check-in reception you will find the Aequalis Spa Shop where you will be able to see the variety of products being sold. There will be staff members from the spa who will answer any of your questions regarding the lotions.
Aequalis Spa Guest Shop
Here is a quick overview of the ground floor where the Aequalis Spa is located. As I stated above you will be able to dine in on this section as well since the FIT CAFE is usually open. Staff members will take your order as you are settled in.
The spa also offers a comfortable sitting where the guest can relax prior to their massage. Throughout my time exploring the area, the staff member came and greeted me. She directed me to where I could sit and brought me an iPad with the massage options I could select from, a towel and some tea were also brought out. She gave me time to select my treatment and drink my tea. Shortly after she came with a clipboard to take some notes and ask me several questions on how I wanted the massage and if I had any pain or discomfort. I advise her on where I needed to get the most treatment and she advise me on the best massage for me to get, so we went with the deep tissue Release. She took her time on getting to know me and my requests and within 5 minutes or so I was called in to the treatment room.

For privacy reasons I did not take any pictures within inside the spa because it was very crowded with plenty of guest walking in and out of the facility. However, I was able to cover the particular room where I got my massage. The room was spacious, it offered a bath tub and a private bathroom where you could show or steam room, toilet and a sync with a variety of toiletries and lotions. The room had a relaxing aroma with relaxing music playing through, which is my absolute favorite as it sets the mood for a relaxing and calming vibe. Prior to my massage, I was given the usual clothing to wear for a massage and I was recommended to take a 10 minute shower and 5 minutes of steam room to relax the body – this was my second shower because I always take a really hot shower prior to a massage though one more doesn’t hurt specially being able to enjoy the steam room.
Spa room amenities and installations
Within the spa room on your right hand side you will find the shower and steam room and to the left hand side there will be a toilet to use. The steam room was a fantastic along with the shower combination attached to it. Placed behind the wall you will find a rope to use prior to walking into the massage room.

Post-Massage Treatment experience
The massage was absolutely out of this world. I am not just saying this because I was given a free massage to review the service – my opinion and thoughts are my own but the therapist took her time to focus on the areas I requested the most and it truly made a difference in my overall performance. The aches, pains and body discomfort I was feeling immediately were fading away. She used a lotion that once applied felt hot in your skin and then the heat of it would fade away. It is a type of cream that provokes the pours to open up and release all the tension and lactic acid, which is ideal because that releases the aches and pains. She took her time to help me and make me feel brand new. The music throughout the massage was relaxing and the bedding was even better. When facing down you will see a cool visual where the headrest is located. Throughout the massage she will also ask you a few questions regarding pressure, if you are feeling ok and if you would like the pressure to be tougher or more gentle.
Once finished, I was taken into the relaxation room of the spa – Where you could sit down and relax post-massage. They bring you cold tea as a post-massage refreshment and it was tasty. On the side table you will find a questionnaire to answer a few questions regarding your treatment and how everything went. I like the fact that the Sheraton Seoul Spa gives you a variety of options regarding massages as it is vital to meet everyones demand and liking, they do a great job on tailoring the massage according to the peoples need, body type and condition.
Kudos to the Sheraton for a job well done. Have you stayed at this property before? And did you try out the spa?
