Throughout the month of April I had the great pleasure to travel to Boston, it was a month filled with Los Angeles to Boston turns but one of those trips in particular was the most exciting one because I was invited to the Sheraton Boston by the Marketing Team of the property, so special thanks to Erin for the invite and willing to show me around the property so I am able to showcase some of your new installations with my readers and followers. The Sheraton hotels are some of my favorite properties to stay at as an Spg elite so being able to visit this hotel and getting to see their installations was a real treat for me.
I have reviewed two departments of the Sheraton Boston if you are interested on reading those as well
On Today’s installment I will be covering one of the newest installations in the hotel which is the Greentangerine Spa and Salon which is located on the first floor of the property as you make your way towards the elevators. Keep in mind this hotel is massive and they are two towers, but the spa and salon won’t be hard to miss since as soon as you arrive to the hotel to the right hand side you will be able to see it.
I personally think this is a wonderful touch because it’s just not a spa but also a salon, where males and females can come in for a hair cut and they offer a wide selection of products, incase you need some. This adds a credibility source for the hotel big time because everything is in one place and it can save the guest a hassle of going somewhere else when they need a hair cut. I have to admit, I have gone out of my way several times to find a barber shop to cut my hair because some of the hotels where I’ve stayed don’t offer a hair cut, so seeing this was a thrill. Kudos to this concept Sheraton Boston. Last but not least, it is worth nothing that The Greentangerine it’s also open to the public so you don’t have to be a guest to use the facility.
Upon entering to the facility I was pleased with what I saw, it doesn’t feel like an over the top salon or spa where you can barely walk because of how small it is, but it felt rather comfortable and spacious and it was well thought out on space management so it doesn’t feel too crowded in there, specially during peak hours. Not only will you be able to do your hair, get a massage but you will also be able to get your nails done and take care of your skin, a complete rejuvenation package for the guest If I should say so myself.
Lets take a look inside Greentangerine
Upon entering the facility you will see the check-in counter where you will be greeted by the friendly staff working. It is a straight to the point concept, throughout my visit the spa seemed to be very calm and not crowded. Within the check in counter you will find several products being featured and what each is good for. They have a great and knowledgeable team working in the spa so if you happen to have any question about products, the staff will be more than happy to assist you. The presentation is simple yet everything was clean or organized, for me simplicity goes a long way and this set up wins me over.
To the right left hand side when entering you will find a variety of products being sold and facial creams as well. They have quite the selection here so selecting from one may be a mission for some ;), but again – each product serves for a different purpose and the staff will be able to assist you to meet your needs and wants.
To the right hand side you will find products for men and several accessories such hair brush. As I previously stated, the collection of product is intense here but it is great to have a variety of products so it meets the guest needs and wants.
The salon offers some comfortable sitting as well for the guest to wait to sit back and relax. The set up is minimalistic and I am a fan of the set up, very unique style.
The pedicure station was well designed as well and they have an state of the art equipment, the chairs offer a massage as well to unwind as you are getting pampered. On the wall you will find the endless of colors you can select from to paint your nails and toes. Everything was well organized and clean and the natural light coming in made things even better as it doesn’t feel too secluded or claustrophobic.
Right behind the pedicure area you will find a station where you can get hot or cold water, make yourself some tea or some coffee. The tea addition for me is a big plus since there is nothing better than a mid day tea while getting pampered. The tea selection is great as they offer some variety.
Now that we have covered the major grounds of the salon, lets focus on the Spa section. Due to privacy reasons I was not able to see some of the massage rooms as they were guest getting a treatment though I was able to get a sneak peak of what the facility looks like and what it offers for the guest. The massage area was soothing and very well designed, again they keep things simple yet stylish for the guest. I am a fan of properties that focus on the simple design yet showcasing it in a way that makes the guest feel at comfort and this spa certainly showcases that look.
One of the first things you will see when entering is the refreshment area for the guest. Gotta stay hydrated prior and after a massage right? 😉 Well, cold minty water will be available for you anytime and you can grab it at your own leisure.
As a spa guest you will also find your locker where you will be able to put your belongings there prior to your massage. No need for a lock as the locker itself provides their own manual lock to keep your items safe and secure.
Down the hall of the spa you will find the waiting area and changing room which again offers a minimalistic set up yet comfortable and relaxing. Within the waiting room you will find a table with a variety of magazines to read until you are called for your massage. The changing room is right next to the lockers which makes things convenient for the guest. The area was clean and nothing seemed to be fixed, it shows that one of their focus is to maintain the facility looking flawless.
The men’s restroom seemed to be spacious and offered your simple toiletries and amenities. Within the restroom you will find an area to shave and your typical toiletries are offered, complimentary. Within the restroom you will also find the shower rooms which you can use anytime, either before or after your massage – I believe it come down to personal choice, so you can ask the therapist for more info on that if needed. More lockers are located within the restroom as well and the facility was spotless, the aroma was minty and soothing.
Sheraton Boston – Greentangerine Spa & Salon bottom line
Overall the Greentangerine Spa and Salon does a great job on everything they are showcasing for the guest – This is indeed a very well approach from their part to make the guest experience better and richer. Being able to cut your hair, do your nails, get a skin treatment plus massage sounds like the ultimate package specially when everything is within the property. They do an excellent job on keeping things clean and organized which is of course something important to keep in mind. On my next visit I am keen to try a massage and see what they offer for the guest and how the experience is, which will say a lot about their therapist and how well they are trained.
But as my first look and getting a walkthrough of the installations, I was pleased with everything I saw which brings me to the topic that you won’t be disappointed when visiting the Greentangerie.
