Greetings to all from Abu Dhabi!
After a long 15 hour and 30 minute journey aboard Etihad Airways Business class from Los Angeles to Abu Dhabi I was thrilled to be back in Abu Dhabi. The UAE has a special place in my heart and being able to be here and expand my vision within the travel and tourism hospitality it’s an ultimate pleasure. During my trip to Abu Dhabi in June I visited the Etihad Airways arrivals lounge, though at the time it was super crowded and to respect guest privacy, I skipped reviewing the lounge at the time. So I am looking forward to sharing my lounge review now that I was able to cover it.
The Etihad Airways lounge is located right after you clear customs and collect your luggage. Passengers in First and Business class are welcome to enjoy the amenities of the lounge and everything it offers and I highly recommend you take some time to unwind after your flight by visiting the lounge. The lounge staff will also direct you to the chauffeur service when you’re ready to leave the lounge.
ETIHAD AIRWAYS ARRIVALS LOUNGE
Lets get this out of the way, the lounge isn’t massive so don’t expect it to be. The lounge is cozy and well kept. When arriving into the lounge you will be greeted by the friendly agents working the counter, make sure to give them your passport and boarding pass and you will be admitted right away. The lounge offers a variety of seating, yet pretty standard and nothing to write home about. The lounge staff are there to assist you and accommodate anything you would like during your visit, so if you would like some coffee, tea, etc they will go ahead and get that for you. All of the staff members were friendly and super attentive, which is the norm here in the UAE.
The lounge chairs at the lounge are comfortable and spacious.
ETIHAD AIRWAYS ARRIVALS LOUNGE – FOOD & REFRESHMENTS
The lounge has a solid presentation as far as refreshments and keep in mind theres no alcohol served here. Water, soft drinks, tea, juices and coffee are served and you can grab anything from the cooler that you would like to have. The spread of food is simple and not over the top.
As far as food being offered, I wouldn’t necessarily called food but more like mini bites to eat as they offer pastries, little sandwiches, wraps, veggies and salads.
Within the lounge area you will find the newspaper rack if you are in the mood to read the latest news in the UAE.
Incase you need to surf the net, you will find the computer area within the lounge. It is a very tiny area with just one computer in service and you can use it at your own leisure.
The bathroom of the lounge is also well kept and very clean, on the small size though.
IS THE WET SHAVE OFFERED AT THE ARRIVALS LOUNGE?
I am sure many of you have heard about the Wet Shave that Etihad Airways offers for their guest and yes the Wet Shave is complimentary for First and Business class passengers visiting the Arrivals lounge. To book your appointment simply ask one of the agents and they will direct you to get the shave. It is a wonderful amenity and one of my favorite perks of flying premium cabin with Etihad. Last but not least, the lounge also offers showers to freshen up if needed and if you need assistance, simply ask the staff on duty to accommodate your request.
Overall, Etihad Airways never disappoints and the lounge gets the job done offering state of the art amenities. What would I like to see from the lounge? A better food selection for the guest, perhaps a mix of hot dishes in addition to what they already offer.
The agents on dity were fantastic and they couldn’t have been any friendlier. It was an enjoyable visit and I hope you are able to experience the arrivals lounge at Abu Dhabi airport.
