As I previously mentioned, one of my favorite things about Le Meridien Abu Dhabi is their focus on food – It goes without question how great of an emphasize they put into food and their unique events that they are constantly having. In case you are not aware of this by now, Le Meridien Abu Dhabi offers Arabic Night at the Latest Recipe every Tuesday at 7:00pm. You won’t be disappointed with the endless of options being offered to you, the guest. One of my favorite food has to be Arabic, so believe me when I tell you this – it was a great experience trying out the local flavor being cooked by one of the elite chefs in the house.
The set up for Arabic night is very unique and special -It brings you into the moment to soak in the vibe and enjoy the amazing food, even the waiters have their arabic attire on which gives it a great credible and fun vibe to the evening. They are there to serve you and make your evening a special one. As per usual, keep in mind this will be a buffet type of dinner and the waiters will accommodate any drink request of your choice, coming straight from The Latest Bar.
Needless to say, the amount of food offered is massive – At first, I had no idea where to begin, it all looked amazing. What makes this buffet even more special? They have a dedicated section to grill any of the meat you would like and if you aren’t sure what to order, simply request the chef to mix it up for you so you are able to try a little of everything. Freshly cooked and delivered right to you. Doesn’t get much better than this right?
ARABIC SALAD // SALAD STATION
So where did I start? The Arabic Salad station was indeed one of the major highlights – Everything was just so fresh and cooked to perfection that I couldn’t pass not trying the various salads being offered such as Greek salad, Potato salad, Broad beans salad, Muhamra salad and fried cauliflower with tahinah sauce with a variety of tasty dressings offered as well.
Followed by the salad bar area, I went ahead with the hot bites – Which the chef accommodated all of my needs and wants. It is one of the sections that you definitely shouldn’t miss during Arabic night as a variety of condiments, spices are being offered to add on that extra flavor to your food. Without questions, the authenticity of the food, presentation and delicates it’s just perfect and it sure doesn’t get much better than what it is offered here. If you aren’t sure what to get and have any questions, be sure to ask the chefs on duty as they will advice, recommend and educate you on the dishes being offered.
As far as refreshments go, on the buffet you will have a variety of juices to select from one of them being arabic. They also have a variety of bottles of wine, rose and champagne to select from incase you are craving something else the prices are listed below for the bubbles, rose and wine. As I previously mentioned, the waiter will accommodate any other drinks of choice you would like which they will be all on a menu with a much bigger selection than what you get at the buffet.
THE ARABIC FLAVOR
Throughout the buffet you will find a station with a variety of little bites being offered. Of course, my eyes were glued to the dates because you can’t never have enough of them right? I loved the presentation of how things were placed and decorated. As per usual, if you have any questions feel free to ask any of the staff members on duty so they can assist you.
ARABIC NIGHT // DESSERTS
For those with a sweet tooth, you will be in heaven when you see the amazing selection of desserts being offered. From traditional arabic dessert to your typical desserts of all kinds and flavors. This was an area of the buffet that I spent most of my time at shortly after finishing the great feast of food I had. Without a doubt, the desserts were delightful and the presentation was excellent.
Arabic dessert section – One of them is known as Umali and the second one is called Kunaffa.
THE MAN BEHIND THE SCENES
I had the ultimate pleasure to meet the chef that cooks the dishes for the Arabic night and he was a pleasure to meet. His passion for cooking speaks for itself and his skills are just fantastic. I was fortunate to try a few of their signature dishes before the night began and I can honestly tell you – it was one of the best foods I have ever had, specially the famous zucchini which is a must try, so don’t leave without trying it – you won’t be disappointed.
Executive Chef Patrick van Velzen is also a big asset into what Le Meridien cuisine is about, with his passion to deliver the best for the guest and visitors. It is a great team of well rounded chefs.
