During my second trip to the Middle East I visited Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha. I was on a pretty tight schedule during my 15 days in Abu Dhabi where I worked with Le Meridien Abu Dhabi marketing team to promote their latest projects happening at the property. You can find the blogs listed above if you would like to see the latest innovations integrated at the property. After 15 successful days in Abu Dhabi, I went up to Dubai for the evening where I was positioning for my flight to Doha, Qatar the next day where I was flying OneWorld Alliance member, Qatar Airways. Staying close to the airport was a no brainer so I decided to book Le Meridien Dubai located in Airport Road, the night fee was reasonable rather than using Starpoints for my stay. The night at Le Meridien Dubai costed me $137 USD, where I was automatically upgraded to the Royal Club rooms which have been recently renovated and given a complete make over, I was excited and in for a total treat.
The drive from Abu Dhabi to Dubai is around one hour and 20 depending on traffic and as always, it doesn’t get much better than approaching Dubai and seeing the tallest tower in The World, known as the Burj Khalifa.
Upon arrival to the property I was greeted by the friendly staff and was directed to the lobby where I was going to check-in. The friendly agent told me I was upgraded to the Royal Club area and would have to walk all the way down the hall, take a couple rights and left and I would arrive to Le Royal Club area where it’s completely a whole new world from the main hotel area of the property. Being an Spg Platinum offers some great perks. Keep in mind Le Royal Club will also offer check-in experience, concierge and guest services for the guest, as I arrived to the premises I was escorted to the floor where a friendly staff member walked me to my room and thats where the check-in experience took place, at the comfort of my room and believe me when I say this, that was a first ;). The room was spectacular and spacious, Le Meridien Hotels are one of my favorite properties within the Starwood chain so visiting new ones it’s always a fun experience. As my Welcome Amenity I chose the starpoitns because you can never have enough of them ;). The staff member asked me if I wanted a tour of the room but I declined since I was a little tired and wanted to get some rest before exploring Dubai and enjoying some of the wonderful hotel amenities like the roof top pool.

Without a doubt, I wish I could have stayed longer in Dubai and at Le Meridien Dubai as the endless amenities offered was outstanding while also making it a perfect Business Hotel and the convenience of airport transfer included on the Le Royal Club room benefits is also outstanding as I am one that is always planning ahead with airport transfers to catch my flights. As I previously stated, the Le Royal Club rooms were recently renovated and given a fresh new look, and I strongly believe they did a fantastic job with the room. The decorations, the bed, the amenities, the installations and the beautiful bathroom was the icing on the cake with what it offered, the room size it’s 560 sq ft for those wondering. So lets begin with an overview of the room, shall we?
To access the room section of the Royal Club floor you will need your guest key. The installations were fascinating and the color combo of black, purple and white are among one of my favorite colors for a hotel. Chilled music is playing through the halls making the vibe even more relaxing.
You will also find a couch a couple chairs to wait if needed and they were plush and comfortable. As per usual, the SPG Network Channel is playing so you are familiar with the SPG and what it offers. Simply stunning installations.
I was assigned room #8501.
The bed of the room was comfortable and spacious and as a solo traveler, what else could you possibly need? At the end of the bed you will have a comfortable couch to sit at and relax. Within your bed you will find the breakfast menu if you would like to have your breakfast delivered to your room. It has to be placed outside the door at a particular time so be sure to follow and read the instructions so you’re breakfast is delivered just how you want it to be delivered.
On the side tables of the bed you will find a Samsung Tablet to use during your stay which is complimentary and on the other side you will find your bottled of waters. Incase you need more, ring up Concierge and they will deliver more waters to you, all at free of charge. For those wanting to collect more starpoints during your stay, I advise you all to “make the green choice”
In room entertaiment is simple and nothing to rave about. As per usual, you will find a guideline where it will give you information about the hotel and the amenities offered. Furthermore, a wide range of channels are listed within the note pad below the TV. I am not much of a TV watcher but late evenings they were playing some old school films that I couldn’t resit not to watch.
One of my favorite amenities of the room has got to be the massage chair, a dream come true. When I saw the massage chair in the room I rapidly said to myself “Is this real life?” The massage came in handy as the day prior I went wake boarding for 30 minutes and took several hard falls and my body was achy beyond words can express. What better than a massage chair in your room to use it for as long as you want with nobody disturbing you? Heaven on Earth, fantastic concept and a massive kudos to Le Meridien Team for thinking about this.
Within the main entrance of the room you will find a rather big closet featuring different compartments to place your belongings. Within the closet you will find the safe box which is very use to use along with a robe and slippers to use. Everything is pretty well organized within this section and my suitcases, carry on and backpacks fit perfectly without taking much room.
ROYAL CLUB ROOM BATHROOM
Without a doubt, the bathroom of the room was beautiful and well kept. Offering state of the art installations with amenities that will only make your experience even better and more relaxing offering everything you need at your finger tips. The bathroom featured a single water sink and within the mirror of the sink you will be able to watch TV as well, I have always liked this concept and I only used this feature while getting ready and enjoying the relaxing bath tub. Within the sink area you will find more complimentary waters and your typical toiletries. Everything was well kept, organized and clean.
The toiletries were pretty standard and simple, mouthwash, lotion and soap.
The shower of the room took some getting used to as it was a type of shower I haven’t experienced before. It offered different modes where you are able to adjust the pressure and style of pressure you would like to use. Within the shower you will find more toiletries such as bath lotion, conditioner, shampoo and scrubs. The Shower was truly awesome and pretty high tech. 😉
One of my favorite areas of the bathroom was the bathtub, which came in handy to use during my stay. With jets and different fun features to play with. You will be able to control the lights of the bathroom from the master bedroom to give it a more “soothing feel” where little mood lights from the tub will turn on. If I would have stayed longer at the property this would have been one of the amenities I would have used quite often, because why not? 😉 It sure is relaxing.
The toilet is completely separate from the shower and bathtub with a privacy door as well.
LE MERIDIEN DUBAI BOTTOM LINE
Staying at Le Meridien Dubai was an incredible experience and indeed too short of a visit. While the hotel is a bit away from the City Center of Dubai, it won’t take you long to get to the main attractions and to the action of what Dubai offers. This property has become one of my favorite properties that I’ve stayed at. It offers endless of great restaurants for the guest and the in-hotel amenities were outstanding. As a foodie, the hotel offers a great variety of restaurants to choose from to meet and satisfy your cravings, so going hungry here won’t be an issue. It is also a perfect hotel for those having an early departure the next day and needing to get to Dubai International Airport ahead of schedule which is exactly what I did and it worked perfectly.
The customer service from the staff it’s outstanding and the fact I can connect with the staff via WhatsApp just by using my phone, it’s an even cooler approach eliminating the fact of using the hotel phone and making it more accessible incase I need something while using the gym or hotel pool.
For the business or leisure traveler, I believe you will enjoy this property and what it offers and for the Starwood elite members, you are in for a treat when upgraded to a higher floors like the Royal Club Rooms. The roof top pool that the hotel has in the Royal Club floor is beautiful as you will have a clear view of the Dubai skyline and see some heavies taking off from Dubai airport, you get the best of both worlds, can it get any better than this? I don’t think so ;).
