Cathay Pacific Airways is one of my favorite carriers to fly under the OneWorld Alliance not only because of their on board service and luxurious amenities but also because of their ground service and airport lounges. Without a doubt Cathay Pacific is a carrier that wants to continue to evolve within the industry but with a mission to inspire and motivate the frequent and seasonal traveler with their innovative campaigns such as #OneDayOffline and #LifeWellTravelled.
Not long ago we learned that Cathay Pacific has rebranded the look of their aircraft with the introduction of their new livery.
CATHAY PACIFIC NEW LIVERY
CATHAY DRAGON – THE NEXT STEP
Cathay Pacific is now back with an exciting next step in addition to the latest news announced by them – I find this next step for them an exciting new venture which will only add more value to what Cathay Pacific stands as a leading carrier within the OneWorld Alliance and aviation industry. You have probably heard of Dragon Air which is another carrier within Asia and Cathay Pacific has codeshare flights with them. Down below you will get an idea of the new livery that is soon to take place.
From Cathay Pacific:
We are proud to announce that Dragonair will soon be rebranded as Cathay Dragon – a change that will lead Cathay Pacific and Dragonair into a new era of opportunity and growth.
A NEW LOGO
Cathay Pacific shares the following: By using the Cathay name and iconic brushwing logo we are better able to communicate our shared brand values and establish an even stronger link between the two airlines.
WHEN ARE THE CHANGES COMING?
In the coming months, the rebrand will roll out across our many products and services. Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon: now one seamless branded travel experience designed to help you truly travel well across the network of our two airlines. We look forward to welcoming you on board very soon.
SHARE GROWTH BETWEEN THE TWO
Since 2006, Dragonair has been part of the Cathay Pacific Group, and the two airlines have worked closely to offer unrivalled connectivity and service from Hong Kong – now to almost 200 destinations across mainland China, Asia, and the world. We have continually strived to deliver high standards of service and a consistent premium experience to ensure our passengers travel as well as possible.
As the Cathay Pacific Group continues to improve and expand each airline’s offering, Dragonair has arrived at the next logical step in its journey. We now have the opportunity to become stronger than the sum of our parts by bringing the branding of the two airlines closer together.
I believe this new rebranding that Cathay Pacific is introducing towards Dragon Air and soon to be Cathay Dragon, it will position both carriers to continuous growth, expansion of networks and both carriers will continue to evolve as leading carriers. Both carriers are known for their customer service, on board experience and the overall on board product it offers as they truly focus on making the guest experience one of a kind. From improvements of their cabin, to the entertainment system, to the latest routes introduction and much more. There is no doubt that with this rebranding the consumer will be able to associate it with Cathay Pacific on a much more exclusive way, specially for mainland China passengers departing out of Hong Kong which is one of the major hubs.
I have always been a big supporter of Cathay Pacific and what they stand for and this is something that excites me to see. Positive changes, innovation and overall growth to continue leading the industry by example and doing whats absolutely necessary to continue making your passengers happy allowing them to connect and fly to a variety of destinations around The World.
- We are very proud of our heritage in Hong Kong and China. It’s from these roots that Dragonair has grown into an award-winning regional airline.
- It’s important that the spirit of Dragonair lives on in Cathay Dragon, and we aim to keep the signature touches that made Dragonair unique. One way we are doing this is through the contemporary design philosophy established for Cathay Dragon.
- Our philosophy draws from the design and tastes of modern Chinese culture, while at the same time being mindful of the traditions that inform contemporary society.
- This philosophy will influence both physical design and ongoing refinements of Cathay Dragon’s service offering as a whole.
- The new design will be seen in range from the use of distinct textiles and patterns to the language and style of content provided for our passengers.
- Cathay Dragon’s in-flight meals and service will continue Dragonair’s tradition of providing the best of Chinese and Hong Kong cuisine.
I look forward to seeing the changes rolling within the upcoming months and a congratulations to Cathay Pacific for the new innovation.
