The film industry asked and American Airlines has delivered. As a direct result of requests from L.A.’s entertainment industry traveling to the Toronto Film Festival this fall, the world’s largest airline is adding new nonstop flights from September 7-14, 2016 between Los Angeles and Toronto.
And for the first time—customers traveling to the festival with American Airlines will have the opportunity to fly aboard the market-leading A321T—the only 3-class trans-Atlantic flight with a First Class “private jet” feel with fully lie-flat seats in First and Business Class.
Passengers will be able to select from two daily flights in each direction (the second daily flight will be aboard the A321T):
- LAX to YYZ on A319: 8:15am depart; 4:00pm arrival (Business, Main Cabin)
- LAX to YYZ on 32T: 10:15am depart; 6:00pm arrival (First, Business, Main Cabin)
- YYZ to LAX on A319: 5:20pm depart; 7:40pm arrival (Business, Main Cabin)
- YYZ to LAX on 32T: 7:00pm depart; 9:20pm arrival (First, Business, Main Cabin)
On board, from the fully lie-flat seats, First and Business Class customers enjoy all aisle-access, Wi-Fi, a universal AC power port and USB port and in-seat entertainment system includes a selection of 3D moving maps, up to 200 movies, 180 TV programs and more than 350 audio selections and games. This service is the entertainment industry’s preferred aircraft to regularly travel from Los Angeles to New York, JFK heavily utilized during awards season by Hollywood’s biggest stars.

Additionally, passengers traveling from LAX to the Toronto Film Festival will be able to enjoy the ultimate experience on ground with unmatched service from curbside to check-in with premium services at LAX including dedicated VIP Flagship® Check-In and Five-Star Service, as well as access to the Admirals Club® and Flagship Lounge.
This is a nice touch by American Airlines on doing this for the passengers who will be attending the Toronto Film Festival and it sure adds exclusivity from the moment they will be arriving to LAX. As an American Airlines Executive Platinum member and someone who has tried the Flagship check-in, flagship lounge and both cabins (First/Business) on American’s A321T, I won’t be surprised how many passengers will wish that they could fly this type of plane more often while getting also receiving the ground experience that they will have prior to their flight.
The A321T is a beautiful plane and it sure provides maximum passenger comfort. While the air conditioning temperature aboard can be a hit or miss, this plane is definitely one of my favorite ways to fly coast to coast between LAX-JFK. So for those interested on flying this plane, be sure to select the route/flight that provides the A321T and not the A319, which I highlighted in bolt above. You can’t go wrong with a flat bed, endless of movies and some breakfast at 39,000 feet in the air.
In a month filled with celebration, American Airlines is commemorating its 90th birthday this year. The airline carried a record 14 million passengers via LAX during 2015 alone! With over 220 daily departures to over 60 global destinations operated by the youngest fleet among global network carriers in the U.S. and unmatched premium services on the ground, American has a rich history as the premier airline at LAX with the most domestic and international destinations
Best of Luck to those attending the Toronto Film Festival.
